The UC Berkeley Startup Competition is one of the nation's foremost startup competitions. Our judges include some of most successful and experienced venture capitalists, entrepreneurs, and advisors in Silicon Valley. (See Past Judges for list)

Judges have the opportunity to review businesses that are based on some of the most exciting new technologies coming out of UC Berkeley and UC San Francisco. While organized by students from the Haas School of Business, many of the entrants are actually engineers and researchers from UC Berkeley's Colleges of Engineering, Information, Materials Sciences and UCSF's acclaimed medical and biosciences schools.

Judges have the opportunity to work with the next generation of great entrepreneurs, who are passionate and excited about starting new ventures. This interaction includes multiple judging rounds, and also opportunities to participate in events like the Launchpad, where Semi-Final teams do rehearsal pitches and receive feedback from judges in advance of the Semi-Final and Final events.
