    Auto TB

    More than one-third of the world’s population is infected with tuberculosis. Improved diagnostics are crucial in combating this growing epidemic. AutoTB’s device automates sputum microscopy, thereby decreasing analysis time, increasing sensitivity and eliminating human error present in current procedures while integrating into existing infrastructures and remaining affordable for developing countries. The medical and economic benefits of this device will provide a competitive advantage over existing technologies and make it marketable to NGOs and governmental health departments.

    Integrated Diagnostics

    Integrated Diagnostics is developing a novel, easy-to-use, patent-pending, point-of-care device for early stage, accurate HIV detection. We have applied CMOS IC technology to encapsulate the performance of a laboratory immunoassay in the palm of the hand at a cost comparable to current strip-based tests. Hospitals, private practice physicians, and decentralized healthcare facilities will use this device to expedite accurate diagnosis of incoming patients while foregoing the overhead associated with traditional laboratory-based testing.
    LavaHealth

    LavaHealth provides business intelligence solutions to hospitals that have adopted Electronic Health Information Systems (EHIS). EHIS systems enable hospitals to manage patient records, order laboratory tests, and exchange information efficiently, but the EHIS vendors have neglected to provide software solutions that recommend cost-saving behavioral changes and optimal diagnostic test selection. LavaHealth will develop software initially focused on clinical laboratories within these hospitals. The product suite analyzes data from EHIS systems and makes actionable, cost-saving recommendations to hospital administrators, enables administrators to configure acceptable electronic test order policies, and measures progress against established goals.
    Logicularity

    Logicularity allows enterprise business users to gain visibility and obtain transparency by allowing them to articulate their information needs and better manage their information assets and artifacts. Two key aspects of the tool are - Graphical requirement design and catalogued repository of information assets. The graphical design solution allows a business user in an enterprise to visually explore structured and unstructured information sources and test drive dashboards, reports and other information processes prior to development. The second component is a repository or a catalog of all information related assets such as taxonomy, hierarchies, reporting logic, master data etc. Our goal is to reduce the complexity of information for the business user and develop an information asset repository that is accessible from a business perspective.

    Novophage

    Novophage provides an advanced biological solution to treat antibiotic-resistant bacterial infections in a clinical setting. Current antibiotic strategies suffer from declining effectiveness against multidrug-resistant bacteria. The engineered bacteriophage that Novophage plans to commercialize will provide a highly effective biological alternative to the current standard of clinical care. The benefits from using this genetically engineered bacteriophage include suppression of the evolution of antibiotic resistance, high efficacy in combating bacterial biofilms, and a broad activity spectrum of activity against different bacterial species.

    Siverde

    Fossil fuel use contributes to rising greenhouse gas levels. Biofuels can address this problem, but current photosynthesis-based approaches require either expensive infrastructure or arable lands, which can disrupt food markets and degrade the environment. Siverde is developing a technology that converts CO2 into biofuels without relying on photosynthesis. Siverde's technology is a unique and more sustainable solution to the problems of both greenhouse gases and fossil fuel supply that can serve as a bridge between inorganic and biological renewable energy technologies.
